Line In
Purpose
Provides access to external audio signals from the rear panel LINE IN jack. The attenuated signal is available at the front panel for patching into any point in Cascadia's signal chain -- filter, wave folder, mixer, ring modulator, or sample & hold.
What Makes It Special
While simple in function, the Line In module is the gateway to using Cascadia as an audio processor. External audio can be patched into the VCF for filtering, through the Wave Folder for harmonic enrichment, into the Ring Modulator for metallic textures, or into the S&H for voltage extraction. The dual-LED level metering (green for signal, red for clipping) makes gain staging straightforward even without an oscilloscope.
Controls
| Control | Type | Range | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| LEVEL | Slider | 0-100% | Attenuates the signal from the rear panel LINE IN jack |
Patch Points
| Jack | Type | Normalled To | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| LINE IN OUT | Output | None | Attenuated version of the rear panel LINE IN signal. Patch to any destination |
LEDs
Two LEDs indicate signal level at the output jack. The green LED brightness tracks signal amplitude. The red LED lights when the input is clipping the circuit, indicating the LEVEL slider should be reduced.
Normalled Connections
No normalled connections. The LINE IN output must be manually patched to a destination.
